Vineyard Voice is a charitable 501(c)3 publishing organization facilitating connections between Island individuals, organizations and businesses.
Mission
Our mission is to use media to tell and share stories that transform our relationships with each other and with our creative community in order to help people here thrive.
Projects and Accomplishments
Vineyard Voice began as an online community publishing medium in 2007. In 2009 we founded the 501(c)3 charitable organization and created and installed a video production lab called Vineyard Community Media, through a collaboration with Featherstone Center for the Arts. Through the video and computer lab at Featherstone Vineyard Voice taught Island kids and adults video production, online publishing and digital storytelling.
Over two years, the Youth Video Journalism Project taught 15 Island and seasonal residents video production in collaboration with Island organizations.
The Media Lab also sponsored several videos produced by Island adults. These videos focused on environmental issues — water quality, fisheries, energy production and land conservation.
In 2011 the video production lab was donated to Featherstone and is still in use.
